entered Statehood 01 Jun 1796 as the 16th State

Tennessee seceded from the U.S. on 07 May 1861. It was the 10th of 11 states that joined the Confederate States of America. CSA, also known as the Confederacy, was the government formed by the southern states that seceded from the United States during the period of the American Civil War.
