of early Lowndes & Russell Co, AL

There obviously were at least 3-4 separate Bryan families in Montgomery/Dallas/Lowndes Co, AL in the early 1800's - early 40's, My Henry Bryan's family (formerly of Georgia) being one - Rev Richard Bryan's widow & children (formerly of SC) being another and James Bryan children (born in SC) being a 3rd. Then there was David Bryan, Edward Bryan (formerly of NC), Nathan Bryan, Redding Bryan (of GA), Samuel Bryan, Stephen Bryan and Wade Bryan (formerly of SC) all either owning land or appearing on the 1830-1840 census that do not have a direct lineage to my Henry nor Rev Richard Bryan so far.

Wade A. Bryan - Lowndes Co, AL
(son of unknown Bryan)

Of the 9 Bryan families on the 1830 Lowndes Co, AL census, Wade is 1 of 3 Bryans that I cannot link to a parent - He later moved to Jackson Parish, Louisiana (abt 1845).

Waid/Wade BRYAN is found 1830 Lowndes Co, AL - 1840 Butler Co, AL and later moved to Jefferson Parish, LA (abt 1845). He is one of only 3 Bryans on the 1830 Lowndes Co, AL census that I have yet to place - Nicholas & Redding being the other 2. Wade's name appears as Waiden or Warden. He is living next to Nicholas Bryan and between Hillborn families in 1830. In 1829, he is found to be a land owner in Lowndes Co, AL on the same tracts with Wm Bonnell & John Hillborn. There were 3 Bryan(t) women that married Hilburn men in early Montgomery Co, AL - (1) Keziah Bryan who married 1819 to Henry Hillburn (2) Elizabeth Bryant who married 1820 to John Hilburn & (3) Peggy Bryan who married 1824 to Wm Hilburn. Also a Sarah Bryan who married 1823 Montgomery Co, AL to John Rodgers.

The Inabnet family was among the early settlers of Orangeburgh Township, SC, along with my Giessendanner, Hugg, Pou & Wolfe families. Johannes & Andreas Inabnet's names are among the 68 family members that signed the Orangeburgh Citizens Petition in Behalf of  my Rev. John Giessendanner 27 May 1749. The Herlan/Herlong family was also among the 1st settlers.

On the 1850 Jackson Parish, LA census Lizzie Bryan & husband, John D Inabnet were living in the household of Charity Bryan & her husband Christian A C Herlong.

The Ouachita Telegraph
Saturday, December 17, 1870

Inabnett - At his Residence, in Ouachita Parish, La., Nov 5, Mr. J D Inabnett: aged 48 years. He was born in in South Carolina, moved to Louisiana in 1848, and stopped in Jackson Parish, where he married Miss Elizabeth Bryan. Sometime after he removed to Ouachita where he ramained until his death. Mr. Inabnett's opportunities in life were limited; yet, he was a man of sound sense and good judgement; possessing noble principles and high sense of honor. His hospitality was almost unbounded. He was generous to a fault, always ready to assist his neighors in any laudable business; and liberal with his means both for charity and religious purposes.

Mr. Inabnett was not a professor of the Christian religion, yet his house was a home for the preacher. Truly, a good citizen has fallen and we trust has gone to a happier clime. - He was an affectionat husband and indulgent father, and has left a devoted wife and five children, the oldest of whom has just died. Truly the ways of God are past finding out, and the mist of life we are in death. May God bless the widow and four remaining children!
A FRIEND.
