Note 1: I am unsure of which John Pou that is listed below, or if there were more than one living there at the time. I do know that my John Pou, III is the one listed 1834 along with Wm Pou, his son, and Allen Bryan, his son-in-law. Other than that, I am not positive that the name John Pou applies to him. John Pou, III was the father of Sarah Pou, wife of Allen Bryan. He was also the father of Rachel Pou who married John W Carruthers.
Note 2: There is a Wm D Pou listed several times. I am unsure if this is the son of Wm D Pou, Jr, dec'd or if he is son of another. Robert L Pou is listed and he had a brother named Wm Daniel Pou. Their father, Wm D Pou, Jr died before 1831. His final estate settlement was in 1850 as recorded in Lowndes Co, AL. Wm Daniel was not named, leaving the impression that he had died by then.
Note 3: Robert L Pou, son of Wm D Pou, Jr and my John Pou, III were 3rd cousins. Both having migrated from Orangeburgh Township, South Carolina. Robert L being the grandson of Wm D Pou, Sr and John Pou, III being the grandson of John Pou, I brother of Wm D, Sr.
