Mary L Grace Pou -
Obit
Obits
- Early Pioneers of Settlers of SHELBY County, TX
IN MEMORY OF MRS. M. L. POU
Mary
L GRACE was born Jun 15, 1851, and
departed this life Oct 29, 1917. She was married
to W.T. POU 19 May 1870.
Twelve
children blessed their union, nine of which are
still living and were at her bedside doing all
that loving hands could do to stay the destroyer.
She
united with the Baptist Church at Ramah in 1874,
living a consecrated life until her Savior said,
"Tis enough, come home and dwell with me."
She sang while sick the songs used when she was
laid away; "Nearer My God to Thee",
"Come Angel Band", and "Sweet
Bye and Bye".
Weep
not dear ones, for we know you will miss a
wife's' tender voice, a mother's warm embrace,
but in your grief 'tis sweet to look Heavenward
and by faith see your loved one waiting to
welcome you where no pains are known. May we all
be prepared to meet her on the celestial shore is
the prayer of her pastor. - J.H. McLEROY
