(1797-1871) who married 1824, in Madison Co,

Allen B BRYAN
was a Confederate Soldier in the Civil War .. He
enlisted Sep 16, 1861 Camp Flournoy, Wood Co, TX
.. Company K, 28 Dismounted
Cavalry
discharged May 1865, and was in the Arsenal at
San Antonio on detail service as harness maker as
stated by O.F. Martindale & Wm T POU in his
pension application. He was 77 yrs old at the
time he applied for his Civil War pension. He
listed his trade as Milling.
Allen
applied for Civil War Pension 14 Mar 1915. He was
residing in Hawkins, WOOD, TX.
On
pension question "If detailed for
special service, under the law of conscription,
what was the nature of your service and how long
did you serve": ANSWER: "My
occupation was listed as a mechanic and while I
was at home on furlough I was ordered to San
Antonio to make cartridge boxes and was there
about six or eight weeks harness maker. before
the surrender. Was on detached serve's
at San Antonio as.."
